This article is to help users update the firmware for their XY GPS Finder on their iOS (Android) device. We are constantly pushing new versions of our firmware to better the experience of our users, and improve the performance of our new XY GPS Finders. If you experience an error with your XY GPS, it is always a good idea to check if there is an update available. We hope to soon implement notifications for new updates, but in the meantime, check every few weeks to see if there is one available to you.
Before you begin this process, please note the following:
- The XYGPS must be in Bluetooth range of your smartphone or tablet computer to receive the firmware update. Please make sure your XYGPS and your phone are directly next to each other and your XYGPS is facing upward with the XY logo showing.
- The XYGPS must have battery to complete this process. You should see a light when you push the button on your XYGPS. Please plug in the XYGPS and do the firmware update while it is charging.
- You must have a connection to Wi-Fi or cellular to receive the new firmware update. Please ensure that the internet connection you're using is a strong and reliable.
- Please make sure the XY Find It app is updated to the latest version. To update the XY Find It app on your Android device, if it does not perform automatic updates, please open the Play Store app on your phone or tablet, search for "XY Find It" and tap on the result. Tap on Update and wait for the app to finish downloading and installing, then restart your phone.
